(Lecturer: The representative of Kientalerhof)
EDUCATIONAL ROUTE The message of peace and respect for the energy, conveyed in the show shall be enriched by interactive multimedia installations route, which will deepen the educational value of the campaign. It will also both provide attractive "pictures" for the media, and give a chance for direct contact with the receiver. Features of the educational route: • interactivity - characteristic elements of the route will be able to influence the receivers and interact with them (f.eg. interactive screens, responding to the motion, installations, which can be influenced by an sms); • empirical – mini-experiments as a part of the route; The purpose of the application of these methods is to influence the long lasting memory of the receivers, and to create an attractive and original message, addressed to the wide audience through the media, concerning the respect for the Energy and the need of Solidarity. Fire. Examples of Installations. Example of an installation: an interactive sphere, equipped with counter touch. Visitors will be invited to participate in creating a "value ranking". The installation demonstrates the validity of every gesture, which is calculated at the touch of a sphere inscribed in positive terms, such as: love, solidarity, tolerance, family, acceptance, peace, mercy, welfare, ecology, justice, altruism, brotherhood, dialogue, forgiveness, peace with nature, harmony. Interactive installation "We warm up the energy of love", which can be influenced by sms, or touch. We propose that the original, cold light color in the installation (f.eg. blue), the visitors could change into red – color of love. Interactive installation "A man should consciously use his own energy." Touch-sensitive screens, panels responding to the motion. Educational system based on a number of multimedia presentations, explain what is the place of man in the system of production and use of energy. Educational route is designed to show the alternative energy sources - wind (windmill), earth (geothermal), water (turbine), chemical reactions, motion (panel responding to the motion), sound (light bodies, decibel meter, sun (photovoltaic panels), etc. in the artistic form. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES The aim of the event is to raise the social awareness: 1. We shall inform the public about the problems associated with natural phenomena of the climate and energy crisis and its possible solutions. 2. Promotion of the wise use of energy, its savings and the environmentally conscious behavior. 3. Showing the potential of Elements. Culture of co-existence between a man and elements. 4. Encouragement of the in-depth reflection. 5. Increasing the sense of responsibility. 6. Promotion of the positive attitude towards other people. 7. Promotion of the global and local solidarity, cooperation and peaceful solutions. 8. Popularization science and technology in the service of man. 9. Creation of a platform for global cooperation for the environment. Other possible installations: Display: Glowing Orbs of EnergyThis display features interactive balls glowing with an intense orange color, which are warm to the touch. Written on the balls are positive words, such as love, solidarity, tolerance, family, acceptance, mercy, peace, well-being, justice, dialog, brotherhood, forgiveness, altruism, peace with nature, and harmony. The installation will be equipped with a numerical counter, indicating how many times the balls have been touched. The numerical counter is an important part of the educational exhibit because it shows which values Warsaw citizens find most important. Thus, each gesture of touching a glowing orb is an act of communication that is literally counted, and allows ranking of the words.
Display: "Alternate Sources of Energy Exist"
This display shows alternate sources of energy, including the energy of wind (a windmill), of a human, geothermal energy, the energy of water (a turbine in the River Slope), energy from a chemical reaction (displayed either through video or demonstration), energy from cold fusion and atomic energy (shown symbolically) energy of movement, energy of sound (shown with an oscilloscope ), and solar energy (solar panels).
Display: Let's Heat Up the Energy of LoveInteractive installation, which one can influence through senses. This would be symbolized by a cold, blue light that participants could change to a warm, red light signifying love.
Display: Turn Yourself PositivelyA psychosomatic experiment, showing the impact of positive symbols and positive thinking upon our mental and physical limitations. The installation uses the two symbols of a spiral flowing towards the center (closing) and a spiral flowing away from the center (opening).
Display: Let's Protect the Sources of Energy
This display uses an interactive wheel resting flat on the ground, made of plexiglass, under which is an array of LED lights which respond to pressure on the wheel. If one person stands on one edge of the wheel, the pulsing light in the center of the wheel will intensify. If two people stand, it will become brighter still. Once three or more people are on the wheel, it will begin to change color, and it will continue intensifying.
Display: The Sound of Words is Also EnergyDemonstrate the energy created by sound using an oscilloscope, which is capable of reading and visually displaying any sound (such as drums, voices, applause, etc). As people create their own noises, different participants will naturally coordinate their sounds to create more interesting displays on the oscilloscope, both demonstrating the energy of sound and connecting people with each other.
Display: Energy is All Around Us - Learn to Use It WiselyThis installation teaches everybody, though particularly children and young adults, to switch off lights, computers, stereos, etc. For adults, this will display information on so-called vampire electronics, that continue to draw power while being 'off', and how unplugging a device when not in use can save money and help the environment.
Artistic Experience: Allowing Children to Express their EnergyThis display combines education and allowing children to express themselves artistically, by encouraging and inspiring them to demonstrate their artistic abilities through open-air classes of painting and drawing.
Interactive Display: Homemade Gadgets This exhibit will demonstrate gadgets and other creations that children and young adults can make at home, using common materials. This educational exhibit will hopefully inspire children, through DIY (do-it-yourself) methods to become their own agents for change and empower them to take action personally, even if on an individualistic scale.
